Full name: Shinichirou Minato
Aliases: Not really, 'Shinichirou' is the nice one and 'Minato' is the violent mind-raper.
Canon from: Sukisyo
Canon type (movies/books, etc): Games mixed with anime series.
Age (approx if not sure): Around 32
Gender: Male
Point in time when character has been taken from canon: A few weeks after the third game, Rain (in the anime series it's after Shinichirou gets stabbed and the apartment is set on fire.)
Character history:
Shinichirou Minato grew up with both Nanami and Aizawa and struggled to contain and control his MPD (multiple personality disorder), due to the fact that his alternate personality, 'Minato', was often uncontrollable and physically and verbally attacked those around him. While Shinichirou was disgusted and afraid of his condition, Aizawa was fascinated by it and convinced both Shinichirou and Nanami to help him research the cause and possible treatment for the condition after they graduated high school. While the three were in college both Nanami and Shinichirou helped take care of several children at a nearby orphanage, especially Sora and Sunao after their best friend was adopted. At the time, Shinichirou took up a job as a free-lance detective.
It didn't take Shinichirou too long to start suspecting something was wrong when the two young boys went missing and Aizawa started showing his controlling nature more and more in front of him. It wasn't until he accidentally discovered the depths of which Aizawa was manipulating and abusing Nanami that he realized the full twisted turns the research into his condition had taken. Several months later he managed to discover that Aizawa had kidnapped Sora and Sunao and were using them in his experiment on creating alternate personalities in the hopes of creating future sleeper-soldiers. Shinichirou blamed himself, of course, for giving Aizawa the idea of creating alternate personalities to begin with.
Shinichirou convinced Nanami to run away with him instead of staying to research with the rather abusive Aizawa, and the two broke into the cell containing Sora and Sunao and the four made a run for it. However, when Sunao fell in the hallways, Shinichirou could only grab Sora, who was closer to him, and made his escape. The fact that he had to leave Sunao behind haunted him for years afterwords.
Eventually Shinichirou became a math teacher and settled into a comfortable life with Nanami and the two raised Sora like a younger sibling. Years later when Sunao once again transfered into Sora's classes Shinichirou was at first very suspicious of the motives behind it. Sora and Nanami convinced him to trust Sunao and finally Shinichirou moved towards building a sibling relationship with the boy again. However, Aizawa was still controlling Sunao and manipulated all of them until Sora was forced into stabbing Shinichirou right in front of Nanami just before Sunao set fire to the room. Aizawa took the opportunity to capture Sunao and Shinichirou for his experiments while causing Nanami pain in revenge for leaving Aizawa years ago. At the point I'm taking him from, he'll probably be rather drugged and injured, courtesy of Aizawa.
Character personality (please also include how the stress of incarceration and the Warden's interference may affect your character. We realize that character interaction may influence and change this, however, certain aspects of your character's personality may be considered constant):
Shinichirou is a typical male, liking fast cars, eating, and sneaking off with his lover, Nanami. However, he truly cares about Sora like an older brother or uncle and occasionally would get rather overprotective until Nanami smacked him on the back of the head. He isn't romantic, but Shinichirou is deeply loyal and hides a very loving and generous heart with a laid-back and carefree attitude. At school he tries to uphold his reputation as a cold and demonic teacher so that the students won't try taking advantage of him (or visit his classroom outside of class, when he likes having time with Nanami). He has carried the guilt of what happened to Nanami, Sora, and Sunao as if he did everything to them himself and wishes to somehow make it up to the three even though he's not sure how that would be possible. Shinichirou also tends to be a bit... disorganized under the carefully presented exterior. His home office is as messy as his school office is tidy and he often forgets where he puts things until Nanami reminds him.
As his alternate personality he prefers being called 'Minato' to separate himself from his kinder self. Minato is rough and dominating and rather selfish. Minato isn't satisfied with normal relationships and would rather prove his superiority by subjecting anyone he has an interest in to humiliation, abuse, and occasionally rape. This may be due to a combination of Aizawa's interference during the periods of time Minato is active, and Minato's disgust over Shinichirou's rejection towards Minato's existence. The only good result of Aizawa's experiments and training is that Minato can be stopped by hitting him rather hard on the head, which turns him back into Shinichirou.
As for how the two personalities will react to a prison environment? Shinichirou will be very reclusive and untrusting at first, his first priority is protecting Nanami and getting them out of there while suspecting Aizawa has something to do with it. Shinichirou is a rather straight-forward person though, so once he starts trusting other prisoners and getting used to things he'll ease up a little.
Minato will probably get violent until the drugs wear off, then start mind-fucking with people and using them for his own entertainment.
Physical description: Shinichirou is tall, dark, and handsome! Sort of. He's rather athletic with black hair that more often than not will fly every which way. He's rather self-confident and collected, yet seems the type to take five-minute showers and buy cheap plastic combs. Unlike Nanami there's really no way to mistake him for a girl. Minato obviously looks like Shinichirou but with a more focused attitude in general, and likes to slick back his hair for a more professional look. Which is a bit of a contrast for his tendency to sleep with students and get into fights.
Magical powers or special skills: Shinichirou is probably a pretty good hand-to-hand fighter and fair with a gun. He's also very good at math since he's a teacher.
